ABOUT US

Hello!

We are Angela and Alex, chef and owners of Luncheonette in the East End in Portland, Maine. We are proud to bring a unique concept to this town that we love dearly.

Luncheonette is a scratch restaurant meaning nearly everything is made in-house, including the sourdough loaves for our sandwiches. We believe in using high quality ingredients sourced locally where possible, and we love learning about everything that Maine has to offer.

The Luncheonette model is familiar in a lot of different cultures: A smorgasbord in Sweden, tapas in Spain, meze in the eastern Mediterranean, okazu in Japan, banchan in Korea, so forth and so forth. A spread of appetizers becomes the star, and at Luncheonette, we encourage you to try a little bit of a lot.
